I’m a CAPES postdoctoral fellow at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPEL-Brazil), studying how Portuguese-English bilinguals navigate motion lexicalization patterns in their foreign language. My research draws on experimental methods to explore how bilingualism shapes language use and cognition.

With a background in foreign language teaching and a strong interest in psycholinguistics, I’ve dedicated my academic journey to understanding how bilinguals deal with the conceptual mismatches between the languages they know and use.

How do the languages we speak influence the way we perceive, make sense of, remember, and communicate our experiences in the world? And how does all of that affect how we learn a new language? By exploring these questions, I hope to contribute to broadening our knowledge of second language teaching and learning, as well as the bilingual mind.
